PHILIPSBURG – Recently, St. Maarten Development Fund (SMDF) met with Prime Minister Honorable Leona Romeo-Marlin. During the visit, the Fund, represented by Director Keith Franca and Program and Development Manager Makhicia Brooks, presented its Annual Report for the year 2018, including its Audited Financial Statement. The Annual Report, which outlines the organization’s work throughout the year, includes overviews of its projects executed. Throughout 2018, SMDF managed over ANG 8.4 million guilders from multiple donors including the Government of St. Maarten, the Dutch Ministry of Kingdom and Interior Relations, the Windward Islands Bank, Netherlands based RebuildSXM, Netherlands-based humanitarian organization Cordaid and the Caribbean Shipping Association.
As a self-governing organization that receives funds from the Government of St. Maarten, SMDF submits an Annual Report, including Audited Financial Statements, by June 30th of each year. In addition to the Annual Report, SMDF also submits quarterly reports to the Government of St. Maarten. This procedure of reporting five times per year is also done with all other SMDF donors.
